Ok, time to review a bad movie...yeah, this time I chose a masterpiece.
Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer... that should tell you more than enough about this movie already.
Movies like that ARE the reason why the stereotype of the dumb American exists.
Just to give you the idea of what it's all about, this movie is a parody of 2012 and other disaster movies, packed up with Indiana Jones, Juno, Facebook references and pretty much anything that's popular today. Did I call it a parody? Well, excuse me... the word parody implies having some degree of humour... well, this piece of undigested faeces has none... I shit you not, I didn't smile even once throughout the whole movie. I was in total shock. They don't even TRY to make it funny. Most of the time they either explain the joke or repeat it 4-5 times. I should invent a whole new language to describe this movie, cause the word joke clearly can't be used in such context. Having someone burp for 3 minutes or being hit by a car IS NOT A JOKE.
I understand that not everyone is Christopher Nolan or Steven Spielberg... But these 2 excuse-for-filmmakers, they don't even try... I assure you the whole process of writing a script (lol) for this movie was like that:
1) go on imdb and check the hottest trailers
2) go on youtube and see what's popular
3) make a character that looks like one of the characters from (1) or (2)
4) have some other character point at (3) and say the following line: "look it's a character from (1) or (2)"
5) REPEAT
These movies (I'm writing the review for Disaster Movie cause that's the only one I've actually seen, but all their other movies are pretty much the same) are not movies... And the fact that people actually go to see these movies in cinema and don't ask for a refund.... it's beyond me. I can't imagine a single human being with an IQ above 40 enjoying this movie and actually calling it funny...
to sum it all up, I'd like to ask you NOT to support Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer... if you wanna see one of their movies just to see how bad it is, fine... download it
